KEY TAKEAWAYS

Can you describe how you applied VETIGEL for this case?
"For the oral mass we applied the VETIGEL using the precision accessory and pressed down using a wet gauze for a few seconds, stopping the bleeding immediately allowing her to go home to her family sooner. With the internal bleed, we applied half a tube of VETIGEL to the general area of the bleed, allowed it a few seconds to sit and then pressed with a wet gauze. The second half of the tube was used to ensure the bleeding had stopped."
What were your thoughts of using VETIGEL compared to traditional methods (pressure, sponges, foams, etc)?
"The VETIGEL gives us piece of mind that the product can safely stay in the patient without harming them. The gel goes into the small crevasses that standard methods like sponges don't necessarily reach easily. The VETIGEL also works without applying pressure if needed, so for delicate tissue it works very well.”
How much time did VETIGEL save your team in this procedure?
"In both cases the VETIGEL saved minutes if not longer, but more importantly the time saved improved patient outcome."
How did VETIGEL improve patient outcome?
"VETIGEL improved patient outcome in both cases, for the older dog it helped get her back to her family faster which improved her recover time and for the surgery dog any time the bleeding stops quickly always vastly improves the patient outcome.”
Would you recommend VETIGEL to others?
"Highly! Every vet clinic should have it, every kennel or pet professional should have it on hand, and it would be a useful first aid tool for anyone working with dogs where they can get an accidental deadly bleed."
